The Government Council of the Regional Government of Castile and León approved this year the first comprehensive strategy to “attract, trust and generate” talent in the region. This plan, which will extend until 2031, includes an action plan with an inversion of 348 million euros until 2027.
Carlos Fernández Carriedo, representing the Council, explained that the strategy seeks to create an environment conducive to the “generation, attraction and retention of talent,” improving corporate competitiveness and promoting the professional and personal desire to create wealth. It also contemplates the possibility of collaborating with private entities to establish synergies.
Among the first actions of the Plan is the program 'Becas Talento ICECYL', which will offer 200 practices in companies for advancement students, with the aim of promoting job opportunities for specialized profiles. These practices will have a duration of 900 hours and a monthly salary of 1,080 euros.
The Foundation for Business Integration and Training for Work of Castilla y León (FAFECYL) has also launched a call for aid to formalize training contracts in companies in the region, with a budget of 15 million euros.
In addition, the Council of Family and Equality of Opportunities has launched a call to help families who move to rural areas of Castilla y León, with a budget of 2 million euros, with the aim of establishing their residence and contributing to the development of these surroundings.
Castilla y León has positioned itself as an attractive center for talent, standing out in sectors such as aerospace, automobile, agribusiness and biomedicine, and occupying a desolate place in the Cotec Foundation's Talent Map.
