The Liga Nacional de FĂștbol Americano (NFL) has stepped up its education and integrity efforts during an exciting season. No players have been suspended for game-related infractions in the last 13 months, and the league is committed to maintaining that trend.
Beginning in 2024, all players will be required to attend in-person education and skills sessions on integrity policy. This initiative, developed in conjunction with the NFL Players Association, will include policy reviews and records on key policies, such as the ban on apostasy at league events.
Sabrina Perel, director of the NFL division, revealed the benefits of personal education, considering that last year was optional. This year, the sessions will take place in cabo in the installations of each equipment during minicamps and practices.
Players will receive training from NFL participation team members or other experienced players. The six main rules for players include:
- Posting about the NFL, including events like the Draft and Pro Bowl, is prohibited.
- Do not allow family or friends to be present during match activities.
- Do not make any sharp points on the equipment installations or during travel.
- Do not share inside team information.
- Do not introduce sports facilities during the season.
- Participation in fantasy games diaries is prohibited.
The league previously suspended 10 players for spike-related violations. The NFL has prioritized education about the policy, with additional sessions for players who received inappropriate feedback.
To ensure the integrity of the game, the NFL assigns an integrity representative to each team to monitor for suspicious activity. Additionally, Genius Sports and IC360 monitor each game for irregularities.
The NFL has also committed to responsible gambling initiatives, expanding its partnership with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) with a $6.4 million grant over three years, focusing on programs that minimize the harm of gambling.
