Pierluisi is involved in various legislative measures

Governor Pedro Rafael Pierluisi of Urrutia has promulgated a series of laws designed to fortify several aspects of the key to Puerto Rico. One of the significant actions was the transformation of the youth of the House Project 2155, aimed at strengthening the finances of the Corporation of Puerto Rico for its public dissemination. This new legislation revokes the prior exemption that benefited entities such as the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, the Industrial Development Company and the Hacienda Department, limiting them to less than 5 percent of their television advertising requirements to the Public Corporation.

Furthermore, the governor also rejected Proyecto de la Cámara 1663, which established the «Ley Orgánica del Departamento de Asuntos del Consumidor», with the aim of ensuring that consumers do not suffer discrimination in accessing essential services such as drinking water and electricity.

Another approved measure is the Proyecto de la Cámara 1606, which introduces changes to the «Law of the Registro de Existencias de Materiales Metales», imposing the obligation to electronically report to the Police Negotiation all transactions relating to materials such as coal and aluminium, with the aim of combating the illegal metal market.

Furthermore, the governor signed Proyecto de la Cámara 2072, which he installed in the «Código Municipal de Puerto Rico» to continue to protect the autonomy of municipalities and facilitate local economic development. This legislation seeks to enhance the ability of municipalities to manage their own hiring and foster an environment conducive to economic growth at the local level.

These legislative actions reflect Governor Pierluisi Urrutia and his administration's commitment to institutional support, consumer protection, transparency in business transactions and sustainable municipal development. Through these laws, seek to improve the administration of public resources, ensure equity in access to basic services and promote an environment conducive to the progress and autonomy of Puerto Rico's municipalities.
