In the plenary of the Cortes de Aragón, the president of the Aragonese Government, Jorge Azcón, and the PSOE deputy, Mayte Pérez, were the protagonists of an intense exchange on the situation of the Presupuestos and the economic management of the community. This confrontation occurred in a context in which both parties faced criticism for their way of dealing with public finances, which led the opposition to cite a lack of clarity towards the proponents.
PSOE criticism of the management of Azcon
Mayte Pérez, deputy of the PSOE, reported the absence of a clear gas technology in the accounts of the next financial year, criticizing the false presentation of the Assumptions. In response, Azcón did not dub the PSOE as “the most incompetent” in the elaboration of Presupuestos, recalling that the previous government, highlighted by Javier Lambán, had failed in the presentation of the facts in two occasions (2016 and 2019).
For this reason we argued that debt reduction and better enforcement must be priorities, pointing out that “health care is as important as not lying.” He said that, contrary to Azcon's statements, the lists of hopefuls in the health system had increased.
Defense of Azcon and criticism of the opposition
Azcón, in his defense, denied that the lists of hopefuls had increased and that there had been a supposed decrease of 12% in this aspect. In a deflating tone, he told Pérez that “you're lost and you've spent years hoping.”
The Aragonese president also mentioned the fact that Pedro Sánchez's government had received pro-independence partners, arguing that the current financial situation was the result of decisions taken at the national level. It prevented me that the autonomous community should expect significant improvements in its finances.
Accusations of lack of control and lack of responsibility
