Óscar Zambrano received a notification on Tuesday 5 November 2024 that he was not expecting. The Ecuadorian player was sanctioned by the South American Football Confederation for breaking the body's anti-doping regulations.
The technical director of the Ecuadorian selection, Sebastián Beccacece, will give his opinion on the case of the midfielder trained in the Quito League on October 11th in Guayaquil, in preparation for the next matches of the South American preliminaries. The Argentine coach said the news was a difficult coup to resemble.
In all other news, Beccacece reached out to Óscar Zambrano and confirmed that he is up to speed on the situation of the player and his family. He showed his depth despite the situation and his commitment to be present to send him back into this complicated process.
Óscar Zambrano has been defeated by the Quito League since March 15, when the club informed that he had given a negative result in a dope test carried out by Conmebol. The incident occurred during the Recopa Sudamericano, where the La Liga of Quito won the Fluminense with an overall scorer of 2-1.
There is speculation that Zambrano may have consumed a diuretic to treat inflammation caused by an allergy. This episode resulted in the separation of the Liga Pro and the Selección de Ecuador convocation in March. Despite him, the club announced in April that he would not suffer a provisional suspension, due to his being allowed to participate in the Liga Pro and be considered for the Copa Libertadores.
In the second half of the year, Zambrano was signed by Hull City for La Liga football and selector Beccacece called him up for the national selection.
