The Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Nicaragua increases its donations in 2024 and strengthens its social impact

The Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Nicaragua received a total of 3.1 million pounds of food during this 2024, marking a significant increase of 39% compared to the previous year. This growth reflects the ongoing compromise of businesses and organizations working to meet the needs of the country's most vulnerable communities.

Currently, there are 27 companies actively collaborating with donations to the Banco de Alimentos. “These contributions allow us to bring essential foods and products to the people most needed in the whole country,” explained María Martha Rodríguez, president of the director of the Banco de Alimentos.

Rodríguez left the impact generated by the foundation in this year, ensuring that more than 21 million people participated monthly, which led to a total of 256 million beneficiaries for all of 2024. “This is possible thanks to the combined effort and to the compromise of the companies that said 'yes' to the hope, helping families who face multiple difficulties,” he said.

Recognition of company compromise

In the second consecutive year, the management of Banco de Alimentos organized a special act to recognize the donor companies, which had the key to recording these results. During the event, they informed us that the effectiveness rate in collecting donations has reached a remarkable 97.57%, ensuring that the products will be available to those who need them most.

Every month, the beneficiary families received packages of basic foods that included roasts, fries, aceite and spare products, as well as cleansing items. “All these products are possible thanks to the donations we receive from our affiliated companies,” explained Edgard Mendieta, executive director of the Banco de Alimentos de Nicaragua.

A blade to redoblar esfuerzos

During the event, the Foundation's directives proved effective in inviting more companies to summarize this cause and participants to repeat their efforts for next December. The Banco de Alimentos de Nicaragua, which is currently present in 15 departments of the country, seeks to continue to broaden its reach and strengthen its social impact.

With the help of these strategic alliances, the foundation continues to work to combat sex work and improve the quality of life for thousands of Nicaraguan families. This effort is both a record of the power of solidarity and the importance of joining forces to meet the social relatives affecting the country.
