The NBA considers holding a four-team All-Star tournament in 2025

According to information from ESPN, the league is developing a format that includes three teams composed of each player, each selected as All-Stars, along with a group of teams that will be the Rising Stars player, where new and secondary players will be year, as well as members of the Lega G.

These four teams will compete in a format similar to a “final four”, which will include two semi-finals and a final.

ESPN also mentioned that the NBA has had conversations with players, coaches and directors about possible improvements for All-Star, and that it has faced challenges in competitiveness and appeal in recent years.

Historically, the event was held with a matchup of the best players from the East and West, but the league recently experimented with a new format in which each of the two captains selected their players without considering conferences.

In 2024, the NBA returned to the traditional format of Este versus Oeste, and we are now evaluating this new proposed four-team tournament.

The 2025 All-Star will come to San Francisco, with the Golden State Warriors as hosts.

There is mention of the possibility of Warriors star Stephen Curry again participating in a three-way contest, alongside Sabrina Ionescu of the WNBA's New York Liberty, as she already did in her exciting year in 2024.

Additionally, according to ESPN sources, this All-Star segment could include other famous players like Klay Thompson, who here, although a Warriors legend, now plays for the Dallas Mavericks, and Caitlin Clark, of the Indiana Fever of The WNBA has already established itself as a leading figure in the United States.
